Football tournament to evaluate military units’ training quality
PANO – Thirty-two military football teams participated in the opening ceremony of a two-week long military football tournament 2018 on October 25 in Hanoi.
The tournament is to evaluate the training quality as well as football movements of military units. It provides an opportunity for units to exchange experiences in selecting and training football players and in organizing friendly football matches between military units and their twinned localities, contributing to strengthening the football movement in the whole military.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong affirmed the strong and effective development of the football movement in the military and its benefits for raising troops’ fitness to fulfill all training and combat readiness missions.
General Huong asked participating teams to ensure safety and encouraged players to show their talents and sporting noble spirit during competition, for the tournament’s success.
Football matches will take place at Army Officers Training School No.1, Viettel Sports Center and Mieu Mon National Training Center.
