Jointly organized by the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Pulse Active Company, the race saw the competition of triathletes, including 20 world-class and 273 Vietnamese ones, in a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride and a 21km run.

Challenge Vietnam 2019 is part of the Challenge Family which has successfully hosted more than 40 races in 26 nations. The event was held in Nha Trang for the first time in 2016.

In the men’s event, Australia’s professional triathlete Steven Mekenna ranked first after completing the three races in a total time of 4:05:04, followed by Chinese Taiwanese triathlete Chan Tuanchun (4:12:14) and Australian triathlete Samma Tebeck (4:20:08).

Meanwhile, in the women’s event, Laura Dennis from Australia won the champion with the time of 4:31:34, followed by her countrymates, Lisa Tyack (4:54:39) and Emily Donker (5:28:33).

Apart from the total award value of nearly VND 350 million, the organizers presented two free awards to join Challenge Taiwan 2020 to best male and female Vietnamese triathletes.

Challenge Vietnam 2019 is an internationally-standardized professional sports playground for Vietnamese triathletes to learn experiences from other world-class triathletes. It was also a chance to attract more foreign visitors to Nha Trang city where they were introduced to local tourism values, beauty and potential.
