Fourteen teams participated in the festival, including teams from high schools, vocational schools, divisions of education and training from districts, towns, and city, as well as the Thai culture clubs across Dien Bien province. Each team participated in two parts of the performance, namely a mandatory Xoe Thai dance section with at least three basic Xoe moves lasting 5 to 7 minutes, and a self-selected Xoe dance section with three additional new Xoe moves, also lasting from 5 to 7 minutes.

This year's Xoe Thai dance festival also featured a big performance with the theme "Dien Bien - Destination for Xoe Dance," involving over 2,000 performers, showcasing the profound art of Xoe Thai dance from the Northwestern region in general and Dien Bien province in particular.

Vietnam's Xoe Thai dance has been recognized by UNESCO as a global intangible cultural heritage element. The festival aims to continue preserving and promoting the cultural values and beauty of the traditional ethnic costumes, as well as the UNESCO-recognized heritage of Xoe Thai dance.

The People's Army Newspaper would like to introduce some images from the festival.
