The festival featured various categories, including portrait, landscape, everyday life, nature, still-life, and so on.

Despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival drew the attention of numerous professional and amateur photographers in Ho Chi Minh City and other cities and provinces across the country.

As reported, the organizing panel received 3,173 submissions from 352 photographers in 46 provinces and cities nationwide. The jury of the festival selected 118 art works to showcase at the exhibition. Among the chosen photos, the jury awarded 12 top ones.

Particularly, the photo “City in the future” (Thanh pho tuong lai) by  author Nguyen Xuan Trang won the gold medal. The works entitled “Family” and “For the development of electricity sector” (Cho dong dien vuon xa) by authors Le Van Dong and Nguyen Xuan Huu, both got the silver medal.

On the same day, the HCMC Photographer Association launched a photo contest named “Photo Marathon.”

The contest will be held via the online format, through the website http://photomarathonxevietnhaviet.com.

Sponsored by the VinFast Trading and Service Limited Liability Company and the Vinhomes Joint Stock Company, the event will take place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in November 2021.

Each candidate can submit a maximum of three entries, including emailing jpg image files, less than 12MB in size. Photos must be kept in their original form and not be edited by any photo editing software.

The event aims to respond to the Prime Minister’s appeal for restoring production and business activities to ensure the people’s spiritual and material life.
