PANO – The Ministry of Culture-Sports and Tourism, in association with Vietnam UNESCO National Commission, finalised dossiers for two intangible heritages, “Southern Traditional Amateur Music’’ and “Worshipping King Hung”, for submission to UNESCO before March 31st, 2011.
The former was proposed by the Music Institute, in association with 21 southern provinces and cities, and the latter was completed by researchers from the Institute of Vietnam Culture and Art, in conjunction with experts and the Phu Tho People’s Committee.
The Council of National Culture Heritage appreciated highly the diversity, popularity, creativity and the role of communities in protecting and bringing into play all values of the two heritages, the most important criterion imposed by UNESCO for humanity’s intangible cultural heritage.
