Vietnam lost 0-3 to Laos in the second match of Group F qualifiers for the 2012 AFC U-16 Championship.
Japan were defeated 2-4 by the Republic of Korea (RoK) while Cambodia beat Chinese Taipei 2-1.
Vietnam, who tied with the RoK 1-1, will meet Cambodia in the third match on Sept. 17 and Chinese Taipei next Sept.19.
Forty teams have been divided into two zones, separated into seven groups of five and six teams each. Each group is set to play one round at a centralised venue with the top two teams from each group moving on to the tournament.
The top three teams from both West and East zones will compete as part of the 16-team line-up at the 2012 finals.
