At the opening ceremony of the festival

In his opening remark, Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son highlighted the fruitful development of the two countries’ diplomatic ties in all fields over the past 45 years. He said that the festival offers a good chance for Vietnamese people to get insights into Japan’s culture and people’s life, and to learn from Japan’s experience in urban development and tourism, thus promoting cooperation between the two sides.

Son believed that the event will help strengthen mutual trust and understanding, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.

For his part, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio affirmed the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties will be an important milestone to promote the bilateral relations across the fields.

Within the framework of the four-day festival, many exchange activities will be held to introduce cultural identities and arts of both countries to visitors. They include a forum on Da Nang urban development, an art exchange between Vietnam and Japan, a show of Vietnam-Japan costume, traditional cultural exchanges, a Japanese language eloquent contest, and friendly football matches.
