* The same day, Vietnamese track and field athlete Nguyen Thanh Ngung earned a berth at the 2016 Rio Olympics after finishing first in the 20km event, with a time of 1 hour, 23 minutes and 29 seconds (beating the Olympics standard of 1 hour and 24 minutes) at the Asian Race Walking Championships (AEWC) in Nomi, Japan. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc, Thanh Ngung’s sister, could not complete her race because of violating regulations and suffering a relapse. However, she still has a chance to take part in the next race of AEWC in Singapore on April 28th, if she is in good form.
