Hungarian coach Grigorie Galhidi

Finishing in 8th position in V-League 2008, The Cong surpassed its goal set for the 2008 football season, but this result doesn’t please the club’s fans.

Though giving credit to its Hungarian coach Grigorie Galhidi, The Cong doesn’t want to use this coach next season because it doesn’t like the coach’s defense style.

The Cong’s goal in the next season is winning a high position in the rankings. To realise this target, the club needs a new “wind” and it has decided to not sign a new contract with coach Galhidi.

It is said that The Cong is negotiating with a German coach while seeking a good Vietnamese coach. The most likely candidate at this moment is Vuong Tien Dung, who led The Cong to success 10 years ago. Dung has just said goodbye to Hai Phong club.

Besides changing coaches, The Cong will keep only three foreign players, striker Endene, half-back Raphael, and goalkeeper Sihavy, and say goodbye to Boston and Mutiu. The club will test some foreign players later this month.

The club will still keep its experienced Vietnamese players, including Bảo Khanh, Phước Tứ, Anh Tuấn and Thanh Hải, and promising young players like Quang Vinh, Khánh Lâm, Duy Linh, and Ngọc Duy.
