The Central Highlands’s gongs to be popularized in RoK

An art troupe including 11 “gong” artisans from Ho Moong village, Sa Thay, Kon Tum province on October 22 will leave for the Republic of Korea (RoK) to participate in the cultural event named “Bucheon World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition 2008” held on October 9-30.
During its visit, the Vietnamese atroupe will have performances and exchanges with the Korean counterparts.
Artisan Nguyen Viet Lam, a famous Hanoian bronze caster, will also take part in this event.
Earlier,18 actors and actresses from Vietnam Ballet and Play Theatre joined the 54th Baek-je Cultural Festival held in the RoK on October 3-12. The Vietnamese art troupe is considered the most excellent among the eight international participating troupes.
Baek-je Cultural Festival is yearly organized in the aim to preserve Baek-je cultural identity and attracting tourists. Notably, this year celebrates 700th founding anniversary of Baek-je Kingdom.
Three performances presented by Vietnamese delegation were highly applauded by international audiences, local people and Vietnamese community in the RoK.
