PANO – Binh Dinh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and People’s Committee on February 22nd held a meeting at Quang Trung Museum to celebrate the 226th anniversary of Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da victory and receive the certificate recognizing Tay Son-Tam Kiet Temple as special national relic site.
Located in Tay Son district, the temple worships King Quang Trung (Nguyen Hue), his brothers, Nguyen Nhac and Nguyen Lu, his generals and the Tay Son troops.
The recognition shows the present generation’s acknowledgement of the great contributions of King Quang Trung and his troops who had defeated the Qing invaders to liberate Thang Long (now Hanoi) in 1789.
Earlier in 1979, the temple, a tamarind tree and a well within the complex were recognized as a national relic site.
