Tay Phuong Pagoda Festival registered as national intangible cultural heritage

The ceremony also celebrated the 10th anniversary of the pagoda’s 34 statues being recognized as national treasures, and kicked off the Tay Phuong Pagoda Festival 2025.

Held annually from the beginning of the lunar year, the festival culminates on the 6th of the third lunar month and lasts until the end of the month. It is a cultural and religious event, with rituals to worship heaven and earth, traditional Buddhist practices, and folk games, etc., creating unique values.

The recognition of the festival as a national intangible cultural heritage is an opportunity for local people to uphold the historical values of Tay Phuong Pagoda and preserve the cultural identity of Thach That district.
