Street carnival marks “Hanoi - City for Peace” recognition
PANO – The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has recently held a street carnival on walking streets around Hoan Kiem Lake to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the city’s recognition as ‘City for Peace’ by UNESCO.
Starting from July 13, the two-day program with a number of cultural activities attracted the participation of nearly 100 domestic and foreign artists.
During the program, the carnival group marched nearly 2km around Hoan Kiem Lake, starting from Ly Thai To Statue and finishing at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Hang Khay - Hai Ba Trung intersection.
On this special occasion, about 10,000 people enjoyed the festive in a joyful atmosphere of music, American carnival dances, fireball dance, drum performances, and circus performances.
The organizing panel also organized some meaningful activities, including pigeon releases, exhibitions and other artistic programs.
