Vietnam won two more gold medals on the morning of October 23, all in swimming events, at the ongoing second Asian Para Games in Incheon, the Republic of Korea.

Swimmer Vo Thanh Tung claimed his fifth gold medal at the Games after beating strong Malaysian rivals Jamery Anak to finish first in the men’s 50m butterfly S5 category with 39.45 seconds.

Earlier, he won four gold medals in the men’s 100m freestyle, men’s 50m backstroke, men’s 200m freestyle event and the men’s 50m freestyle for S5 category.

With the accomplishments, the 29-year-old swimmer has become a strong candidate for the best athlete title of this Games.

Meanwhile, another swimmer, Nguyen Thanh Trung, completed an impressive performance in the men’s 200m medley event SM5 category with the timing of 3 minutes 48.63 seconds, to win gold, his second at the 2nd Asian Para Games.

Athlete Ha Thi Hue also added one bronze to Vietnamese tally with her achievement in the women shot put F37 category.

By mid day, Vietnam got a total of nine gold, six silver and nine bronze medals to rank tenth in the medal standings.
