The month-long exhibition was jointly held by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh Museum in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hanoi’s recognition as a city for Peace by the UNESCO General Assembly (July 16, 1999 – 2019).

The 200 displayed photos were divided into three major topics, including “Hanoi and a thousand years of civilization,” “President Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi’s culture,” and “Hanoi studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morality and lifestyle in cultural life.”

Through the program, the organizing panel hoped to convey a message of a capital city of gentleness, sophistication, generosity and kindness while raising public’s awareness of preserving and promoting traditional beauty and elegant and civilized lifestyle of Hanoians.
