The two stamps feature descending and rising dragons.

The set includes two stamp samples with the 37x37mm size and one stamp block with the 80x80mm size. They were designed by artist Nguyen Quang Vinh from the Vietnam Post Corporation.

Of the two stamps, one features a rising dragon (Thang Long) and the other captures the image of a descending dragon (Ha Long). Thang Long Imperial Citadel where the dragon soars and Ha Long Bay where the dragon peacefully descends are the two Vietnam’s world heritage sites that need to be preserved.

The image of carps transforming into dragons on the background of the stamps symbolizes efforts, luck and successes. Such an image also introduces stamp lovers at home and abroad to the Vietnamese people’s traditional custom of sending off Land Genie and Kitchen Gods to the heaven.
