The Marble Mountains used to be a trading and religious center of the Cham ethnic people. It now contains a huge lot of heritage elements, including dozens of temples, pagodas, and antiquities symbolizing the religious and belief pluralism of Vietnamese culture such as Buddhism, Taoism, Mother Goddess belief and Hinduism.

During the national resistance wars, the mountains range with its strategic position witnessed many great victories of the local people and armed forces.

According to the management board, in 2018, this site attracted around two million visitors and earned nearly VND 84 billion (up 31% compared to the same period last year).

On the occasion, the Da Nang City People's Committee also organized a number of activities such as a photo exhibition, an artistic program and a ceremony to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Ngu Hanh Son district's establishment.
