A Vietnam-Japan music gala night will be held in Hanoi on May 24 and in Ho Chi Minh City on May 26 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Japan-Vietnam Special Ambassador Sugi Ryotaro, who is also Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship Ambassador will perform at the “Dream for Peace” gala, alongside seven Japanese and six Vietnamese popular singers. Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet is expected to be among 3,000 guests to the event.
Ticket sale revenue from the gala will be donated to the Fund for Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Vietnam.
On the occasion, a CD of songs performed by Sugi Ryotaro and several singers from both countries will be released. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has sent a message of congratulations to the ambassador, saying that the CD was a significant contribution to the celebrations.
Meanwhile, Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuo affirmed in his greeting message to the ambassador, that mutual trust between the two people was the foundation for the close relations between Vietnam and Japan.
