Mountainous market space recreated in Hanoi
PANO – On the occasion of welcoming the 2026 New Year, the Vietnam Authority of Ethnic Cultures under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism organized the program “Mountainous Market Fair – Welcoming the New Year 2026” at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi.
At the event, visitors have the opportunity to experience a vivid recreation of the traditional mountainous market space of ethnic minority communities in northern mountainous regions of Vietnam. A wide range of activities are featured, including culinary exchanges, demonstrations of traditional handicrafts, folk songs and dances, and reenactments of typical rituals and festivals such as traditional weddings and rain-praying ceremonies.
The program runs until January 4, offering both domestic and international visitors a culturally immersive experience that highlights the richness, diversity, and vitality of Vietnam’s ethnic minority cultures.
