The two-day festival consists of incense-offering rituals at Hong An Pagoda, and other local temples and pagodas; and festive activities in camps on the hill, and the Quan ho singing night.

Besides enjoying Quan ho music, visitors have chance to participate in various folk games, such as bamboo swinging, traditional wrestling, blindman’s buff, earthenware pot breaking, and cockfighting.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Director of the Department of Culture and Information of Tien Du district cum Deputy Head of the organizing panel, the new highlight in this year’s festival is that Quan ho lovers can enjoy Quan ho singing at houses of local Quan ho artisans and public performances on Lim Hill as well. Security for the festival has also been strengthened by forces.

The Lim festival also contributes to preserving the local traditional cultural values and promoting the image and tourism potential of Bac Ninh province. Before the festival, the organizing panel had carefully selected local clubs, troupes, “lien anh” (brothers) and “lien chi” (sisters) for Quan ho singing performances at the camps, the final Quan ho singing night, and artisans performing at home, he added.

More than 100 young volunteers participated in the festival to offer free drinks to visitors, collect garbage, and guide visitors. In addition, the Tien Du district People’s Committee also provides free Wifi service to visitors.
