PANO – The Japanese traditional art troupe Kawashima-bayashi will perform during the eighth act of the Garage Concert, “Sound and Dance of Locals", in Hanoi on May 15th. This was announced by the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam.

At the event, Vietnamese audiences will enjoy dances performed by Japanese artists in traditional costumes. Lively performances of Japanese folk instruments are also expected to please the audience. 

Kawashima-bayashi is a traditional art troupe in Kawashima, Yokohama City.  It has performed for more 200 years, since the beginning of the 18th century. In 1980, the troupe was recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by the city.

The free performances start at 10:30am on May 15th at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam at 27 Quang Trung Street, Hanoi.
