PANO – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the Office of International Organization of Francophonie (OIF), and the Group of Francophone Embassies, delegations and organizations in Vietnam (GADIF) held a ceremony to mark the International Francophonie Day in Hanoi on March 18th.

Addressing the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc spoke highly of the Francophone community in enhancing cooperation and upholding solidarity for peace and development. The official confirmed that Vietnam always pays special attention to cooperation with the Francophone community.
Representative of OIF in the Asia-Pacific Region Eric Normand Thibeault highly valued the commitment of Vietnam and stressed the role of the French language in international life. He confirmed that the OIF office in the Asia-Pacific Region would always foster cooperation with Vietnam and hailed the country’s participation in UN peacekeeping operations, especially in a number of countries that speak the French language. He went on to further confirm that OIF would always support Vietnam in UN peacekeeping operations.
