Meritorious Tong Toan Thang performing at an event

The screenwriter and director of the show Eminent Artist Tong Toan Thang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, said that the show is part of the programs in celebration of the 72nd Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) and aimed to educate young artists on the good Vietnamese tradition “When drinking water, remember its source.”

The show tells the story of ten young female volunteers who sacrificed their lives at the Dong Loc Junction. In the show, various circus acts, such as swinging on a string, tightrope walks, ladder balance and animal circus, were performed in the background of severe bombing.

Artist Thang said that it is the first time all ten female artists have performed swinging on a string in a circus show instead of a maximum of five artists as usual.

He added that the audience, especially war veterans, would be moved by the scene in which four female volunteers leaning on each other’s hands, which shows the spirit of comradeship and the image of a dead female volunteer still firmly raising a pennant in her hand.

All that will make the audience feel the war fierceness in Truong Son via this show.

In the last act of the show, veterans joined artists in a song “Singing the marching song forever”, ending the memory of a resilient Truong Son.
