This is a practical activity in celebration of the general’s 112th birth anniversary (August 25, 1911 - 2023), and National Day (September 2).

The exhibition consists of three parts, featuring 66 documentary photos about the life and revolutionary career of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
The first part, themed “General Vo Nguyen Giap’s homeland and family,” introduces the image of the revolutionary soldier, an outstanding student of President Ho Chi Minh, and the forefather of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The second one, with theme “General Vo Nguyen Giap with Dien Bien Phu Campaign,” displays important milestones his life and career, since the Vietnam People’s Army was established in 1944, and throughout its cause of construction, defense, and development.

The exhibition also demonstrates the sound leadership of General Vo Nguyen Giap during the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954, defeating the French colonialists, making the legendary Dien Bien Phu Victory.
The last part highlights the sentiments of Dien Bien locals to General Vo Nguyen Giap via photos showing the close-knit ties between him and Dien Bien province and local residents, and vice versa.
The museum’s Director Vu Thi Tuyet Nga held that the exhibition aims to raise the public awareness of the patriotism traditions, solidarity and strong will of the Vietnam People’s Army.
It also describes military arts and great contribution of General Vo Nguyen Giap during the national resistance war against French invaders in general, and the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in particular, thereby honoring glorious victories of the Vietnamese people and military during the campaign, arousing national pride and strong will in order to overcome difficulties and challenges in the cause of national construction and defense.
