The activity aimed to preserve and uphold values of the folk art form in order to create impressive products. All works are folk paintings such as Hang Trong - Dong Ho - Kim Hoang paintings but are completely renewed on engraved lacquer (a combination of lacquer and engraving).
The exhibition gave art lovers an interesting and creative perspective on the nation’s folk paintings, while contributing to bringing the folk art to a new height, combining folk art and modern art.
In addition, the exhibition also displayed paintings inspired by Buddhism.
According to Director of the Hanoi Museum Nguyen Tien Da, this is an important event in the framework of a project on Conservation of Vietnamese Folk Paintings. The museum and Latoa Indochine hoped to bring the past back to visitors so as to preserve and spread traditional values.
