A festival, “Traditional Trade Villages’ Day”, will take place in Phu Xuyen District, Hanoi, from October 26th to 29th, aiming at recognising, honouring, promoting and popularising Vietnam’s traditional trade villages.
Accordingly, there will be various activities held during the festival, such as a festival to honour the founders of trade villages, exhibitions and demonstrations of traditional trades, folk games and so on.
As planned, around 400 people, including artists, artisans and local people from trade villages will join the festival to honour founders of trade villages on October 26th. Besides, typical products, such as lacquer, leather shoes, bamboo-rattan, and so on from trade villages in Phu Xuyen District will be showcased on an area of 500sq.m. Villages will also compete in competitions to make traditional products.
At the festival, local people will also have an opportunity to enjoy folk songs and dances, performed by artists from Chanh Thon Ca Tru (ceremonial song). In addition, young entrepreneurs and youths will have an exchange with artisans from traditional trade villages to learn more about Vietnam’s trade villages.
