PANO - A meeting to celebrate the 1,973rd anniversary of the Trung sisters’ uprising (40AD) and start the Dong Nhan village traditional festival was organised on March 17th at the temple to the Trung sisters in Dong Nhan village, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

The Dong Nhan village festival is annually held to commemorate the great contributions of these two heroines to the country.

In addition to the traditional rites, such as water-picking, statue-bathing and incense offering, there are special activities in this year’s festival, including a Vietnamese classical opera showing the Trung sisters and their generals calling for the uprising, Chau Van singing and martial arts performance.
