Speaking at the event, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Nicolás Hernández Guillén highly appreciated the professionalism, seriousness, and dedication of the film crew. The Cuban diplomat emphasized that the documentary will help generations to better understand the special and exemplary relationship between Cuba and Vietnam as well as the development of the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the two countries of which defense cooperation is an important pillar.
According to Director of the Military Broadcasting Center Major General Nguyen Kim Ton, the documentary is the product of joint efforts between Vietnamese and Cuban comrades. He emphasized that the documentary bearing cultural imprint will contribute to actualizing the two parties and states’ policies on orienting the young generation to preserve and promote the values of historical memories.
Gen. Ton hoped that the documentary will help strengthen the bilateral relationship which has been preserved, protected, cultivated, and handed down to future generations by the two parties and peoples.

In realizing the agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People's Army directed the Department of Information and Training and the Military Broadcasting Center to form a film crew to coordinate with officers of the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces to produce the documentary.
Despite challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the film crew was able to complete the first episode which was screened on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 - 2020). In March 2023 in Habana, the Ministry of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces solemnly held a handover ceremony and premiere of episode 1, attracting the participation of more than 500 delegates. The first episode was welcomed and highly appreciated by leaders of the Party, State, military, and people of Cuba and was also awarded the National Award for Foreign Information in Vietnam.
