The Dak Lak team won two championship titles after defeating Singapore’s team at the International Tug of War tournament held at the Nguyen Du sports hall in Ho Chi Minh City on May 10.

In the women’s event in the 520kg category, Singapore’s team lost to the Dak Lak team with a score of 0-2. Also, in the men’s event, in the 600kg category, the Dak Lak team defeated Singapore with a score of 2-1.

The tournament drew 50 teams from cities and provinces nationwide and a team from Singapore. This is the first time the tournament has been organised and providing an opportunity for athletes to gain experience in preparation for the Southeast Asian championship in Singapore in June.

Athletes competed in 6 events: 440kg, 480kg, 520kg for women and 520kg, 560kg and 600kg for men.

In the Asian Tug of War Championship last year held in Macau, China, Dak Lak’s women’s team won the bronze medal at 520kg category, while the men’s team placed 4^th in the 600kg category.
