The Temple is dedicated to worshiping Tran Quoc Tang, the third son of Grand Duke Tran Hung Dao and a national hero in the resistance war against the Mongol invaders under the Tran Dynasty in the 13th century. The festival is held annually from the third day of the second lunar month to the 30th day of the third lunar month to commemorate Tran Quoc Tang's contributions to defeating the enemy and developing the region.

During the festival, a wide range of activities, such as the incense offering ritual, quan ho (duet folk singing), boat racing and tug-of-war are organized.

Cua Ong is one of the famous relics of the Tran Dynasty in the Northeastern region. It has three areas, namely Lower Temple, Middle Temple and Upper Temple, facing the grandiose Bai Tu Long Bay.

The restoration and embellishment of the temple has been underway with an investment of over VND 500 billion.
