Christmas celebrated nationwide
PANO - Local people, especially youths, on the evening of December 24 flocked to churches and center of cities and provinces nationwide to enjoy Christmas and extended Christmas greetings to each other despite the bitter cold in the North and when the South was gearing up for storm Tembin, the sixteenth to hit Vietnam this year.

Streets leading to churches in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Dak Lak and Can Tho were decorated with brilliant and colorful flowers and lights, images of Santa Claus and pine trees.
A big stage to feast visitors with an interesting artistic program was erected in front of the St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi.
Meanwhile, well-decorated big commercial districts and common places equipped with snow-making machines attracted lots of young local people.
Between December 22 and 24, leaders of Dak Lak province visited and extended Christmas greetings to the Buon Ma Thuot-based bishop’s palace, Thanh Tam parish, the provincial Catholic Unity Committee, churches and chapels. During the visit, priests thanked the leaders of the province and local agencies for their care and confirmed to popularise the Party’s and State’s guidelines and policies to Catholic followers and join hands in building and developing their localities.
