Cherry blossom festival kicked off in Hanoi
PANO – Thousands of people flocked to the Ly Thai To Park (Hanoi) to enjoy the cherry blossom festival and the Vietnam – Japan cultural exchange.
The festival and the cultural exchange activities, kicked off on the evening of March 10, aim to enhance mutual understanding and deepen the two countries’ extensive strategic partnership and to introduce the beauty of Japan to Hanoians as well as foreign visitors to the city.
On display are about 12,000 blossom branches and 150 cherry trees together with various types of flowers of Vietnam such as orchids and roses.
Additionally, special art performances presented by Vietnamese and Japanese artists were held at the event such as Japan’s drum performance and Vietnam’s folk music.
The festival is co-organised by the People’s Committee of Hanoi, the Wanokai International Culture Association (WICA) from Japan, and the AIC Company.
The festival and its accompanied activities last till March 12.
