PANO - A collection of wooden carved pictures has for the first time been showcased at the museum of Nguyen Du, a Vietnamese great poet, in Nghi Xuan District, Ha Tinh.
Earlier, Nguyen Duc Duyen from Ho Chi Minh City, had presented the art work to the Nguyen Du Relics Site Management Board.
The collections comprises of 6 timber boards, each of which is 188 cm in height and 55.5 cm in width.
There are 24 pictures, which are carved on both sides of the wooden boards.
12 smaller pictures depict the life and cause of Nguyen Du as well as Vietnamese natural landscapes and people, while the 12 large ones feature main scenes of the renowned poem of Truyen Kieu (Kieu story) by Nguyen Du, which include the first meeting between Thuy Kieu and Kim Trong (the two main characters), the engagement between Thuy Kieu and Kim Trong and Hoan Thu’s fight of jealousy.
