The Statue of Quan The Am |
The 17m Buddha statue consists of a support, the Buddha and a nimbus. The statue’s mould is made of steel. The statue stands on a lotus throne with her left hand holding a pot and her right hand taking a willow branch.
It took local artisans and Buddhists 36 days in late 2009 to make this statue from some 650,000 golden everlasting flowers, equivalent to 1,630kg of flowers.
The statue set the Vietnamese record in 2010 and the Asian record in 2012.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda, about 12km from the center of Da Lat city, was built in 1949 and completed in 1952. What makes the pagoda unique is that it is inlaid with pieces of glazed terra-cotta, china and glass.
The pagoda is known as a place of pilgrimage and as a tourist destination for both domestic and international tourists.
