PANO - The Ho Chi Minh City based National Political Publishing House (NPPH) made a debut for a book on August 11 on the cultural characteristics of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), and their similarities and differences.

The 480-page book is compiled by Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Luong, Director of the Korea Studies Center under the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the National University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The book brings readers the cultural features of Vietnam and the RoK in the past and today based on analyses on cultural structures as well as economic, political and social changes and sociological surveys conducted in the RoK community in HCM City, the RoK companies in Vietnam, and the Vietnam-RoK families in the RoK.

The book would help people of the two countries understand respective culture so that they could adapt themselves when living and working in the other country, and at the same time to bring more materials for students in Korea studies, researchers and readers nationwide.
