Delegates cutting ribbon to start the day

In her opening speech, Colonel Mac Thuy Duong, the library director, emphasized the meaning of the day to honor publications, authors, and active reading culture contributors.

At the event, the library launched a book and newspaper exhibition entitled “Book – Knowledge, source of creativity, lighting up troops' dream."

On display are more than 1,000 publications providing a general view on the significance and lessons of the Dien Bien Phu and Ho Chi Minh campaigns, and the important role of books, reading culture, and knowledge for each officer and soldier in the national construction and protection cause.

Through the exhibition, viewers are expected to have deeper understanding about the national resistance wars against foreign invaders, the patriotic tradition, the glorious history, and the strong will of independence and freedom as well as the brave spirit of our troops and people.

The exhibition will last until May 19.

As part of the Book and Reading Culture Day, Dr. Le Doan Hop, former Minister of Information and Communications had a thematic talk about President Ho Chi Minh’s reading example to inspire readers to further read and self-study. Mr. Hop also shared some book-reading tips in Industry 4.0. to help form reading habit.

On the occasion, the Military Library received books from the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail Traditional Association.

The library also cooperated with other units in the military to organize related activities in their units.
