20th Vietnam Film Festival officially starts
PANO – The 20th Vietnam Film Festival was officially opened by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Da Nang City on November 24.

Themed “Building a modern and humane cinematic industry”, the festival attracts the participation of 250 guests, including 50 from overseas and 800 artists, film producers, distributors and companies.
In the framework of the festival, there are a number of events scheduled, including an exhibition on Vietnam’s cinematography over the 20 previous film festivals, a seminar on the process of popularizing ASEAN films to the world, a talk on the festival’s role in the development of Vietnam’s cinematography, an exchange themed “Artists with the Armed Forces”, as well as a number of film screenings and a fashion show.
These activities are expected to entertain film-lovers and make contributions to building a modern and civilized film industry.
The closing and award ceremony will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channel 1 on November 28. Best feature films, documentaries and animations will be honored at the event. This year for the first time, the best films made by ASEAN member countries will be honored.
