A new large-scale book collection on Ho Chi Minh City in the past and at present is to be made public on National Day (September 2).

This is a set of 30 volumes featuring historical, cultural as well as socio-economic aspects of Ho Chi Minh City. Information is laid out in the form of Q&As.

Following on the heels of the publication of Ho Chi Minh City Geo-cultural Monograph co-compiled by Professor Tran Van Giau and Tran Bach Dang, this collection has been highly applauded and considered a collection of good books. Its timely appearance lessens worries about incorrect books on history and geography circulating on the Vietnam book market.

Easy and strange seem to be many questions, and they will make readers curious.

For more than 300 years now, themes of Sai-Gon-Gia Dinh-Ho Chi Minh City have been mentioned in works by hundreds of poets, writers and researchers. According to Mr Cao Tu Thanh, chief editor, 100 questions and answers are a compilation of knowledge presented under a popular form, both specific and general. This collection provides readers with necessary information in an abridged and coherent manner.

The 30 volume collection paves the way for a new set named Encyclopedia on Ho Chi Minh City.
