Vietnamese village twins with Cambodian village
PANO – Bia village (la Chia commune, Duc Co district, Gia Lai province, Vietnam) twinned with Phi village (Se San commune, Oyadav district, Rattarakiri province, Cambodia) on October 6 in la Chia commune.
During the event, the two sides signed a twinning agreement with the aim of expanding the time-honored relations between people of the two countries as well as building a borderline of solidarity, peace, friendship, stability and cooperation for mutual development.
They will also focus on protecting border markers and other border demarcation landmarks, implementing each side’s laws on mineral exploitation, production, and border crossing, and strictly observing the entry and exit regulations along the shared borderline.
The twinning is expected to foster solidarity in the two villages, and at the same time mobilize border people to implement the regulations of Vietnam and Cambodia on border affairs as well as boost coordination to promptly address sovereignty-related issues and effectively develop the economy to improve their living standards.
On this occasion, the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command provided free health checkups and medicines for people in need and presented 46 gifts (worth VND 500,000 each) to the Cambodian delegation of Phi village.
