During the meeting, representatives of the villages reviewed recent collaborations, highlighting the strong bond and mutual support, which have bolstered local economic development, poverty alleviation, and peace-building initiatives. Efforts to establish “Peaceful and friendly borders” through cooperative programs, such as citizen participation in the management of border markers and security, have contributed to maintaining political stability and public order in the border areas. The conference also included discussions on additional measures to strengthen their partnership, with representatives proposing initiatives to enhance local security, economic development, and cultural exchange.

Going forward, these village-to-village clusters will continue to support each other in economic activities and work together to improve residents' livelihoods. Plans include increased cultural, artistic, and sport exchanges, enhancing community strength, and jointly managing peaceful and cooperative borders.

They will celebrate 20 years of the twinning program and enhance dissemination of information about the importance of border security and sovereignty, especially through Vietnam's Border Guard Law 2020, and the twinning mechanism. Community elders, village chiefs, and respected individuals will play key roles in promoting the friendship and effectively addressing emerging issues, ensuring the traditional friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao border communities.
