Both sides shared the view that amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides have made efforts to maintain all-level exchanges and meetings in various forms, and effectively made use of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

They agreed to step up post-pandemic trade and economic recovery, enhance national defense-security cooperation, improve the efficiency of border management and collaboration in education, information and communications, culture-sports and people-to-people exchange.

The two sides pledged to work closely together to seek solutions to the issue of legal papers for Vietnamese Cambodians and ensure the smooth relocation and resettlement of Vietnamese Cambodians in the Tonle Sap region.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of shared concern, including the East Sea (South China Sea) issues and several new developments related to regional security and stability.

The two sides pledged to coordinate closely and support each other at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, ASEAN and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), as well as strengthen collaboration in sub-regional mechanisms, and combine the development of the Greater Mekong Sub-region with ASEAN Community building.
