Vietnam, Cambodia cooperate in the fight against COVID-19
PANO - Representatives of Dong Thap province's People's Committee and relevant agencies on April 10 presented 36,000 medical face masks, 200 gloves, 700 hand sanitizer bottles, 3,000 bars of soap, and 60 boxes of instant noodles to Prayveng province, Cambodia.
Addressing the event, Chea Somethy, Governor of Prayveng Province expressed his appreciation and thanks to the authorities and people of Dong Thap province for their support to Cambodia in difficult times, especially for the Cambodian forces who are undertaking the mission to prevent and control COVID-19 in border areas. He also hopes to continue to receive the support of Dong Thap province in prevention and control in the coming time.
Chairman of Dong Thap provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Duong extended congratulations to the Prayveng people and authorities on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year and updated the guest on the current pandemic situation in the province.
He also asked the two countries' on-duty forces in border areas to strengthen patrols and regularly control key areas and trails to prevent people from illegally crossing the border. He also urged the forces to provide COVID-19-related information to help people raise their awareness and strictly implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
