The contest was launched in response to a national-scale competition initiated by the Commission for Information and Education under the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee.

It received 30,000 entries from local officials, Party members and people from all walks of life.

One first, one second, one third and two consolation prizes were presented to units. Meanwhile, in the individual category, one first, two second, three third and seven consolidation prizes were also announced. The 30 top entries were also selected for the national-level contest.

Addressing the event, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Thanh Ha stressed the significance of the contest, saying it helped tighten solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

There will be more practical activities in Thua Thien-Hue to consolidate relations between Vietnam and Laos as well as between Thua Thien-Hue and Lao provinces with which it shares the border such as Salavan and Sekong, and others, he said.
