National Day of Laos marked in Hanoi
PANO - The Lao Embassy to Vietnam hosted a banquet on November 29 in Hanoi to celebrate the 42nd National Day of Laos (December 2) and the 55th founding anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties (September 5).

Present at the event were Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member, permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission; Tong Thi Phong Politburo member and Permanent Vice-Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Pham Binh Minh, member of the Politburo, Deputy-Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; and Vice-State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.
Addressing the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, Thongsavanh Phomvihane acknowledged the support the Vietnamese Party, State and people given to his country’s struggle for national liberation in the past and currently, the national development program.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Party, State and people, Deputy-PM Minh offered congratulations on the Laos’ National Day and affirmed the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
“Despite ordeals, hardship and sacrifices, history has proven that the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos is a wellspring that amplifies our strength and empowers us from one victory to the next,” said Deputy-PM Minh.
