General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith receiving former Vietnamese volunteer troops and advisors

At the meetings, General Huong expressed his pleasure to return to beautiful Laos. He confirmed that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, which has been built, preserved, and fostered with sweat, efforts, and blood and bones of generations of troops and people of the two neighbors, has become a truly invaluable asset of the two nations and unique in the history of the world.

On behalf of the Party, Government, and people of Laos, the hosts highly appreciated and expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State, and people in general and Vietnamese volunteer troops and advisors in particular for their great support, even great sacrifice of blood and bone, to help Laos gain independence on December 2, 1975. The wholehearted support and sacrifice have contributed to building up the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam and creating a special and unique relationship in the world.

Both General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and President of the Lao National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane underlined that together with other Lao leaders, they will pay due attention to the education for the Lao people, particularly youths, so that they could have deep understanding of the special ties between the two countries and be more responsible for preserving and keeping it ever-green.
