In the 2016-2021 tenure, the association will continue strengthening and fostering the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two cities and people of the two countries. More stress will be laid on economic cooperation so that more businesses will invest in the two countries. In addition, more Cambodian students will be sponsored and provided with favorable learning conditions in Ho Chi Minh City and education of the Vietnam-Cambodia traditional relations will be boosted.
Addressing the congress, Cambodian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the role and active operation of the association. He also expressed gratefulness to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers for helping Cambodian troops in saving the country from the Pol Pot genocide regime.
The congress then elected a new executive committee of 52 members for the 2016-2021 tenure. Dr. Truong Minh Nhut was re-elected the Chair of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association.
