Conference reviews goals achieved in ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) held a conference in the central city of Da Nang on June 14 to review Project 161 on goals achieved in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community till 2025, and the community’s activities in the central region.
Speaking at the event, deputy head of the MoLISA’s Department of International Cooperation Ha Thi Minh Duc lauded ministries, agencies and localities for fulfilling the goals in various aspects.
She said the MoLISA suggests the government to allow holding annual high-level meetings on the delivery of global and ASEAN’s integration commitments, as well as activities to realise the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 as committed by Vietnam and other member states.

The ministry proposed urging ministries, agencies and localities to promptly fine-tune plans to carry out Project 161, assigning it to coordinate efforts in the project and realise the Community’s initiatives on environment protection and human resources development in the new context.
Participants discussed benefits brought by ASEAN in politics and security, Vietnam’s ASEAN economic integration process, ASEAN Network of Smart Cities initiative and Da Nang’s activities, among others.
They also looked into advantages and disadvantages in the process of project implementation, including the lack of personnel, funding and access to information.
