Vietnamese students win first at ASCIS
PANO - With 7,300 points, Pawsitive team of the University of Engineering and Technology under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi fought stiff off 16 other teams to win the first prize at the freshly-ended ASEAN Students Contest on Information Security (ASCIS) in 2021.

An awarding ceremony was held on November 12 by the Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA), the Information Technology Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Addressing the event, VNISA President Nguyen Thanh Hung said that the contest, the fourteen of its kind held in Vietnam and the third expansion version with the participation of teams from ASEAN member states, welcomed the most participating teams from eight ASEAN countries, including the host Vietnam. Mr. Hung stressed that the contest attracted a large number of technological students in Vietnam and ASEAN member states.
In this year’s online contest, 17 teams, including seven from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Laos, and Thailand, competed in the final round.
At the awarding ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung and VNISA President Nguyen Thanh Hung presented the first prize to the Pawsitive team with four members namely Dinh Quang Vu, Phan Cong Hau, Nguyen Cao Bao Long and Le Tran Hai Tung.
The second prizes went to N0n$la$ team from the Academy of Cryptographic Techniques in Ho Chi Minh City and HCMUS.BlackPink team from the University of Natural Sciences under the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
The organizers also presented three third and five consolation prizes to the best teams. Team L3V3L1NG from the National University of Laos bagged home a consolation prize.
