Japan completely supports US President Donald Trump’s decision not to make concessions easily and to continue constructive talks to urge the DPRK to take concrete steps to realize denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Abe told reporters after talking with Trump over the phone on the outcome of the two-day summit in Hanoi.

Meanwhile, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said that the second DPRK-USA summit ending without a deal on denuclearization is regretful.

He affirmed Tokyo’s support for Trump’s decisions, calling on the international community to unite and continue efforts to settle DPRK-related issues.

The second DPRK-USA summit took place in Hanoi on February 27-28.
