Rolling in it: Shrimp and pork rolls |
The delegation, in Vietnam for the second DPRK-USA summit, were impressed by the restaurant’s beautiful views and traditional dishes such as goi cuon tom thit (rolled shrimp and pork salad), che to yen chung (birds’ nest soup), ca lang nuong (grilled lang fish), banh xeo (sizzling crepe), and many others.
The guests said Ngon Garden was an ambassador for Vietnamese cuisine. They said they would return to the restaurant next time.
Restaurant owner Pham Bich Hanh presented a painting titled Thanh Co Loa (Co Loa Citadel) as a gift to the delegation.
“We are very honored and happy to welcome the DPRK delegation to Ngon Garden,” Hanh said, adding that she hoped the delegation enjoyed the dishes.
